CP Casting is seeking actors, age 8-80, union or non-union, of any ethnicity for roles in Emerson College student films.
Emerson College was recently ranked #6 on The Hollywood Reporter’s annual list of best film schools in the U.S. on the strength of the newly created School of Film, Television, and Media Arts.
Emerson students develop productions that are of film festival quality which can be incorporated into demo reels. Local Actors who are committed to make these projects come to life are a vital component. We need your talent!
Projects will shoot over the Fall and Spring semesters of 2025-2026.
Actors will be given a copy of the finished footage. This is UNPAID work.

AUDITION SELF TAPING INSTRUCTIONS
PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY AND CAREFULLY
Place the camera on a tripod or steady surface. A smartphone camera is fine, but always shoot horizontally. Make sure you are in a well-lit space without a distracting background.
Cameras should NOT be set to record in 4K or 1080p. Your video clip files will likely be too large. Go into settings of your camera or smartphone, and set video recording to something lower, 720p or below.
Please do not use the black fade in and out of feature on your camera, OR put titles/words on the screen at any time.
Actors should say
full name, height,
(**AND AGE AND DOB if under 18**),
in your SLATE.
The SLATE should be framed like a headshot.
Head and shoulders.
LIKE THE PHOTO BELOW.
THEN YOU MAY GO RIGHT INTO DOING YOUR AUDITION SCRIPT.
Good lighting, good sound, good framing are THE MOST IMPORTANT!
Sound must be clear. Please sound check prior to filming. Please be sure that the mic is directed toward the actor and that the reader stands back so as not to overpower the actor’s voice. The actor’s voice should be heard clearly and the reader’s should be much quieter. Smaller rooms with furniture, rugs, etc. will reduce echo.
Lighting should be good enough for us to see the color of the actor’s eyes.
Please tape auditions in front of a wall or backdrop that is in a solid, light color. Avoid having anything behind the actor that will distract the viewer’s eye such as furniture, pictures, windows, etc. A clean, solid wall or backdrop is best.
The reader should stand just to the right or left of the camera lens, and the actor should play to the reader, NOT into the camera lens.
EYELINE SHOWN BELOW,
LOOK **SLIGHTLY** OFF THE CAMERA LENS TO YOUR READER
EXACTLY LIKE THIS PHOTO
NOTE THE FRAMING BELOW — HEAD AND SHOULDERS
NO EMPTY SPACE ABOVE THE ACTORS HEAD!
A second or third take of the sides is fine, if you feel strongly about showing a different creative choice.
SEPARATE CLIPS FOR EACH AUDITION TAKE AND ONE SEPARATE SLATE CLIP
You don’t have to email each clip in a separate emails, ALL clips can go in ONE email on ONE link.
